I wish I could tell you that my parents’ divorce doesn’t have consequences today. I am soon to be 42 years old, I have been married over 14 years, I have a seven year old. But I think about it almost every day
Your child – my child – no young child, I would be willing to guess – is spiritually mature enough to be considered salt and light.
So, you see, while Jesus may not have specifically said, “Thou shall not…” in a red letter edition of the New Testament, Jesus is God. Jesus and the Father are one. If you know and love Jesus, you know and love the Father. “But Jesus never said” is not an excuse for any sin, period.
I’m exhausted because, while I didn’t vote for any of the three major candidates, I know it is now my Christian responsibility to pray for the ones who won.
Now we have real work to do: the ordinary, every day, hard work of sanctification that bears the fruit of righteousness that affects those around us.
And please, don’t pretend you mean “oh my goodness” or “oh my gosh,” because, no, you don’t. This is slang for taking the Holy Creator God’s name in vain. Period.
Some moments of each day I am almost paralyzed by the overwhelming darkness of our lives.
And sisters, this really is the end of the world as we have known it. There is no going back. What you and I grew up with? It’s gone; it’s time to put on our armor and go to war for Christ. Are you ready?
Our son’s heart is our responsibility, and he certainly can’t guard it on his own. So we will.
I have never particularly enjoyed shopping at Target. I know that disqualifies me from some sort of secret stay-at-home motherhood club (I don’t like wine, either, though, so…whatever).
