2017 Blog Plan

“The heart of a man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” – Proverbs 16:9 ESV

I have been praying about the direction of my blog for the next year, and this is where I think I will be going. Of course, God may totally change this at any point, and I am open to that (see Proverbs 16:9 above!).

I have deep admiration for women like Debbie, Michelle, and Elizabeth who post every week day. My goal for 2017 is to adhere to a rigorous writing schedule, but we will see how much life intervenes. I am a wife and mother first, a tutor in our homeschool community, and I have been contracted again to coordinate multiple area-wide gatherings this spring/summer for our homeschool communities.

However, here is my goal. If you have ideas for topics, I would love to hear them! You can leave me a comment, tweet at me, leave me a comment on facebook, or email me :). I would love to know how I can best serve you through my writing!!

On Mondays I will be writing for Satisfaction Through Christ. My posts will mainly focus on Christian Living issues.

Tuesdays I hope to address homeschooling, parenting, and subjects that fall into those realms. I know there seems to be a lack of solid homeschooling blogs that look at it from a theological perspective, so hopefully I can fill in some gaps there. In addition, I hope to link to resources to encourage you in areas of parenting, marriage, etc.

My reading list for 2017 is extensive, so on Wednesdays my goal is to share what I am reading via book reviews. I’ve reviewed about a dozen books on the blog, and I have the first four for 2017 ready to go! I am excited to share solid books with you!

Theology Thursdays will continue, although I will expand this to include more theology topics, not just exegetically approaching commonly misused verses. Also, a reader suggested a Bible study over a specific book. I am still praying about how that might work!

On Fridays I hope to link to encouraging and edifying articles I have read throughout the week. I read a ton of other blogs throughout the week, so this is where I plan to share those, maybe introducing you to other authors.

Recently I have heard a number of podcasts discussing the need for Christians to continue writing, even if they are writing for small audiences and not trying to sell books or become mega-star authors. Hearing these pastors and fellow authors encourage people like me, a stay at home mom who wants to write, has spurred me to take what I do more seriously.

I hope to honor God and bring Him all glory in 2017 with my writing – that is my overarching goal!
