Day Two

Today was the second day of parents’ day out. Little Man didn’t want to go, because he didn’t want to go up the stairs. However, I told him we could ride the elevator and that solved his problem!

We rode up the elevator, walked to the end of the hall, and in he went. He hung up his backpack and ran off to play. I said goodbye and walked out, but he did come after me for a hug and a kiss 🙂

Then I left. No tears from either of us today! When I picked him up he said he made friends and “winged” on the playground “wings.” He also made a collage that says “God knows LM…” and he picked out pictures to glue to it. He picked out steak and baked potatoes, a kiddo playing soccer and a bicycle. He ate all of his lunch, and drank an entire cup of water on the way home.

And then he refused to nap. He sat in his crib, sang songs and read books for an hour, but no nap. I am praying this does not spell disaster come bedtime!

Here is what is most interesting to me: the collage. He picked out a picture of a Black boy playing soccer. I wonder…did he pick that picture because of the soccer ball or because he knows he looks like the boy? Or did his teachers give him that particular picture? I have no idea, and I probably will never know. It’s just something I find curious!!

  1. I wouldn't worry about the no-nap thing. I think he's just getting a little overstimulated with all the new stuff.

Otherwise, isn't it crazy our kids are old enough to be going into preschool? Wow wow wow!
