It’s Been Six Weeks…

It has been six weeks since I looked at this blog for any reason other than seeing who had written (really need to figure out a reader or RSS feed… ).

Keith started working nights four weeks ago, and I cannot exclaim loudly enough how great it has been for our family. And me. And him.

He leaves for work at 7:30 in the evening, and Little Man is in bed, asleep, by 9:30. I actually have time in the evenings for myself *gasp*. Of course, so far I have used that time to watch the first five seasons of “Eureka” and start in from the pilot episode of “Bones.” But, I was just meeting with some of our pastors today about doing some writing, and developing a class to teach, so that will start to use up that time a little more productively.

Surprisingly, I haven’t had trouble sleeping, and I actually miss the whole bed on the weekends!

Keith gets home between 4 & 11 am (but usually between 6 & 8). I get to go for a run, take a shower, and have even taken to grocery shopping early in the mornings all alone! He showers, eats, and plays with the kiddo, going to bed, usually, around 9 or 10. He gets up between 4 & 5 pm, and we have really good family time before he leaves.

For us? It works. Since I don’t really have a pressing schedule, especially during the summer, it’s really nice in the evenings.

Plus, the work is way less stress and more money!!

We have had dinner together for four weeks. Every night, whether it was just the three of us or with friends or family. So. Wonderful.

Oh, and the kiddo has taken to sleeping from about 9:30 pm to 7:30 am three or four days a week, without so much as a peep overnight. Hallelujah!!

What have you been up to?
